This process has been developed along the last decade and continuously improved to nearly zero emission today. Under high vacuum NiCd batteries are incrementally heated up, reactions take place to convert cadmium hydroxide into metal, which is then distilled within vacuum to highest purity (up to 99,95%). This most advanced and unique recycling process meets all implemented emissions and exposure limits easily.

Recycling of Nickel-Cadmium Batteries

Key characteristics:
– one-step process
– lowest emission (< 0,001 Cd g/h)
– robust process safety
– lowest impact on occupational safety
