Lithium sulphur for safe road electrification
The range anxiety of electric vehicle due to low energy density of Li-ion batteries are still the limiting factor for mass scale adoption of electrified vehicles. LISA, an EU H2020 funded research project, proposes the development of high energy and safe LiS battery cells with hybrid solid state non-flammable electrolytes validated at 20Ah cell level according to EUCAR industrial standards for automotive integration. H2020 battery research projects integrate commonly aspects of recyclability and material efficiency. Accurec with years of experience in Li-ion battery recycling, has been contracted to draft and develop an innovative, sustainable recycling process for this future orientated battery chemistry.
