SPIDER  — Safe and Prelithiated hIgh energy DEnsity batteries
based on sulphur Rocksalt and silicon chemistries

Li-ion battery still needs several improvement aspects like cost, performance, recyclability and safety in order to be massively adopted by automotive industry.

SPIDER, an EU H2020 funded research project, provide a comprehensive solution which offers low-cost (75 €/kWh by 2030), high energy density (~450 Wh/kg by 2030) and high powder density (~800 W/kg by 2030). Safety concern will be strongly reduced as thermal energy dissipation will be reduced to 4 kW/kg, and thermal runaway temperature increased to over 200°C.

Accurec, with years of experience in Li-ion battery recycling, is responsible for demonstration of SPIDER battery recycling, sustainability analysis, testing of alternative material and energy efficient recycling technologies.
